An invitation to dance
The 2025 program - and a tribute to Johann Strauss!
Under the artistic direction of Maestro Karel Mark Chichon, the 2025 program once again promises great emotions. Together with the Vienna Volksoper Symphony Orchestra and a selection of top international guests, the result is an evening that invites you to dream and marvel in the open air.
"Dance has always been an expression of joie de vivre and culture - and no one has embodied it musically as masterfully as Johann Strauss. His 200th birthday is a wonderful occasion to give this art form a musical stage in all its diversity," says Karel Mark Chichon.
Personal premiere for Elīna Garanča
Elīna Garanča opens her performance with “La luce langue” from Verdi's Macbeth - an intense, dramatic portrait of female power and abysses that she presents for the first time in Göttweig and Kitzbühel. Together with Iulia Maria Dan, Kang Wang and this year's ZukunftsStimme Maja Triler, the result is an evening that takes the audience on a musical journey through styles, times and emotions. Between French waltzes, opera arias, South American rhythms and Strauss sounds, an arc of sound is created that invites you to dance and dream in every note.
For the finale, the audience is once again treated to a rousing medley of all the evening's stars - a firework display of voices, temperaments and melodies.
